Description

A comforting skillet of savory beef tips served over steaming white rice, ready in just 30 minutes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 lbs beef sirloin or stew meat, cut into 1 inch chunks
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 tsp salt (adjust to taste)
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup beef broth (low-sodium preferred)
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp dried rosemary
  • 2 cups cooked white rice (about 1 cup uncooked)
  • Fresh parsley or rosemary for garnish

Instructions

  1. Season the beef: In a large bowl, season 2 lbs beef with 1 tsp salt, 1 tsp black pepper, 1 tsp paprika, and 1 tsp garlic powder. Toss to coat evenly.
  2. Heat the skillet: Warm 2 tbsp olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat until shimmering.
  3. Sear the beef: Add beef in a single layer (work in batches if necessary) and sear until browned on all sides, about 2–3 minutes per side. Remove browned beef and set aside.
  4. Build flavor: Reduce heat to medium and add 2 tbsp butter to the skillet. Once melted, stir in 3 cloves minced garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  5. Deglaze: Pour in 1 cup beef broth and 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce, scraping up browned bits from the pan.
  6. Simmer with herbs: Stir in 1 tsp dried rosemary, then return the beef to the skillet. Bring to a gentle simmer and cook uncovered for 15–20 minutes until the beef is tender and the sauce thickens.
  7. Finish and serve: Taste and adjust seasoning, spoon beef tips over rice, garnish with parsley, and serve immediately.

Notes

For a thicker sauce, mix 1 tbsp cornstarch with 2 tbsp cold water and stir it in during the last 2 minutes. Customize with additional vegetables as desired.
