Description

Golden-brown apple fritters with a crispy exterior and tender apple interior, made lighter in an air fryer.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 medium apples (peeled, cored, diced)
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
  • Powdered sugar (for dusting)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your air fryer to 350°F (175°C) for about 5 minutes.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, and vanilla extract.
  4. Fold the wet mixture into the dry ingredients gently until just combined.
  5. Fold in the diced apples.
  6. Spoon dollops of batter into the air fryer basket, spacing them apart.
  7. Air fry for 10-12 minutes, flipping halfway through until golden brown.
  8. Dust with powdered sugar before serving.

Notes

Avoid overmixing the batter to prevent dense fritters. Cook in batches if needed. For extra crispness, give a very light spritz of oil on top before cooking.
