Description
Golden-brown apple fritters with a crispy exterior and tender apple interior, made lighter in an air fryer.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 medium apples (peeled, cored, diced)
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg (optional)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
- Powdered sugar (for dusting)
Instructions
- Preheat your air fryer to 350°F (175°C) for about 5 minutes.
- In a mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
- In another bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, and vanilla extract.
- Fold the wet mixture into the dry ingredients gently until just combined.
- Fold in the diced apples.
- Spoon dollops of batter into the air fryer basket, spacing them apart.
- Air fry for 10-12 minutes, flipping halfway through until golden brown.
- Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
Notes
Avoid overmixing the batter to prevent dense fritters. Cook in batches if needed. For extra crispness, give a very light spritz of oil on top before cooking.
