Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 apples, peeled, cored, and chopped
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar (for sprinkling)
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon (for sprinkling)
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)
  • 1 tablespoon milk (for glaze)
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (for glaze)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together eggs, vegetable oil, vanilla extract, and milk until smooth.
  4. Stir the wet ingredients into the dry mixture until just combined, being careful not to overmix.
  5. Gently fold in the chopped apples.
  6. Pour half of the batter into the prepared loaf pan.
  7. In a small bowl, mix the brown sugar and cinnamon for the topping, then sprinkle half over the batter.
  8. Add the remaining batter on top and sprinkle the rest of the cinnamon sugar mixture.
  9. Use a knife or skewer to swirl the batter gently to create a marbled effect.
  10. Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  11. Once cooled, mix powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla together for the glaze, then drizzle it over the bread.
  12. Slice and enjoy your delicious creation!

Notes

Use firm apples for the best flavor and texture. Room temperature ingredients help achieve a better rise and texture.
