Description

A comforting classic featuring ground beef, sautéed onions and mushrooms, baked with a creamy sauce served over fluffy mashed potatoes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cups mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Mashed potatoes (for serving)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat until fully cooked. Drain excess fat.
  3. Add chopped onion and sliced mushrooms to the skillet and sauté until onions are translucent.
  4. Stir in cream of mushroom soup, beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper.
  5. Mix well and let simmer for a few minutes.
  6. Transfer the mixture to a baking dish and spread evenly.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for about 30-35 minutes until heated through.
  8. Serve warm over fluffy mashed potatoes.

Notes

Avoid overmixing the meat mixture for tenderness. Adjust salt and pepper at the end for the best seasoning.
