- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup whole milk
- 1/4 cup (4 tablespoons) butter
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions
- In a medium saucepan, combine granulated sugar, cocoa powder, milk, and butter. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring constantly to prevent scorching.
- Once it reaches a full boil and is smooth, remove from heat.
- Stir in the vanilla extract and let the mixture cool slightly (about 3–5 minutes).
- In a separate bowl, beat together the heavy cream and powdered sugar until stiff peaks form.
- Gently fold the whipped cream mixture into the warm chocolate mixture until well combined.
- Grease an 8×8 inch pan or line it with parchment. Pour half of the fudge mixture into the pan, spreading it evenly.
- Melt the semi-sweet chocolate chips in a small microwave-safe bowl in 20–30 second bursts, stirring between bursts, until smooth.
- Drizzle the melted chocolate over the first layer and swirl with a knife for a marbled look.
- Top with the remaining fudge mixture and smooth the top.
- Refrigerate until set, about 2 hours.
- Once set, cut into 16 squares and serve.
