Description

Delicious chocolate-covered strawberries that are perfect for any celebration or a spontaneous treat.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound fresh strawberries (large and firm), stem-on and dry
  • 8 ounces semi-sweet chocolate (chopped) or chocolate chips
  • 2 tablespoons coconut oil or vegetable shortening (optional)
  • Toppings (optional):
  • 1/4 cup crushed nuts (almonds, pistachios)
  • Sprinkles
  • 1/4 cup shredded coconut
  • 2 ounces white chocolate (for drizzling)

Instructions

  1. Wash the strawberries gently and dry them completely with paper towels.
  2. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone mat.
  3. Chop the chocolate finely and place in a heat-proof bowl with coconut oil, if using.
  4. Melt the chocolate using a double boiler or microwave until smooth.
  5. Hold each strawberry by the stem and dip into the melted chocolate, swirling to coat about two-thirds of the berry.
  6. Place dipped strawberries on the prepared sheet and add toppings if desired.
  7. Chill in the refrigerator for 15–30 minutes to set the chocolate completely.

Notes

Use dry strawberries to prevent chocolate from seizing. Don’t overheat chocolate.
