- 6 slices of bread (white or brioche)
- 2 large eggs
- 1/4 cup (60 ml) milk
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 tablespoons (25 g) granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 2 tablespoons (28 g) unsalted butter, melted
Instructions
- Prepare the cinnamon-sugar mixture by mixing the sugar and cinnamon in a bowl.
- Whisk together the eggs, milk, and vanilla in a shallow dish until smooth.
- Flatten the bread slices into 4×5-inch rectangles using a rolling pin or hands.
- Spread softened butter on each slice, sprinkle with cinnamon-sugar, and roll tightly, securing with a toothpick if needed.
- Heat a skillet over medium heat, add melted butter, and dip each roll-up in the egg mixture briefly.
- Cook the roll-ups seam side down until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side.
- Serve immediately while warm, removing toothpicks if used.
Notes
For a vegan version, use non-dairy milk and a flax egg. Serve with syrup and fresh fruit for a complete meal.
