A refreshing and visually captivating lemonade that changes color with the addition of lemon juice.
Ingredients

- 1 handful of butterfly blue pea flowers
- 1 cup brown sugar (or natural sweetener)
- 1 cup boiling water
- 2 cups room temperature filtered water
- Juice of 1–2 lemons
- Ice for serving
- Optional: Lavender extract for extra flavor
Instructions
- Boil 1 cup of water in a pot. Once boiling, remove from heat and steep butterfly pea flowers for 5 minutes. Strain the tea and set aside.
- Dissolve brown sugar in half a cup of warm water.
- Stir the sweetened water with the butterfly pea tea until fully mixed.
- Add 2 cups of room temperature filtered water to the tea mixture and whisk gently.
- If desired, stir in a few drops of lavender extract for added aroma.
- Fill glasses with ice, pour the blue lemonade over the ice, and add the lemon juice. Watch as the color transforms!
- Optional: Garnish with lemon slices or edible flowers for a beautiful presentation.
Notes
Best enjoyed fresh and served in clear glasses to showcase its vibrant colors. Refrigerate leftovers for up to 2 days.
