Description

A comforting baked dish featuring tender chicken breasts topped with a creamy ranch sauce and melted cheddar cheese.


Ingredients

  • 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (about 1 to 1.25 lb / 450550 g total)
  • 8 oz (226 g) cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup (about 113 g) shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 packet (about 1 oz / 28 g) Hidden Valley Ranch seasoning mix
  • Optional: 1–2 tablespoons butter or olive oil (to brush the chicken)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a baking dish, place the chicken breasts.
  3. Spread cream cheese over the chicken. (If cream cheese is very firm, microwave for 10–15 seconds to soften for easier spreading.)
  4. Sprinkle the Hidden Valley Ranch seasoning over the cream cheese.
  5. Top with shredded cheese.
  6. Bake for 30–35 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through.
  7. Serve warm.

Notes

Use a meat thermometer to confirm doneness: the internal temperature should read 165°F (74°C). If chicken breasts are thick, pound to an even thickness for even cooking. For a crisper top, broil for 1–2 minutes at the end. Store leftovers in an airtight container for 3–4 days.
