Description

Delicious and quick air-fried churro bites with a crunchy exterior and a tender interior, coated in cinnamon sugar.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup cinnamon sugar (for coating)
  • Oil spray (for air frying)

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, combine water, sugar, butter, and salt; bring to a boil.
  2. Remove from heat and stir in the flour until smooth, forming a cohesive dough.
  3. Let the mixture cool slightly (2–3 minutes), then add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition until glossy and slightly thick.
  4. Preheat air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
  5. Transfer dough to a piping bag fitted with a large star tip and pipe small bites (about 1–1.5 inches) onto parchment paper.
  6. Lightly spray the churro bites with oil spray and air fry for 10–12 minutes until golden brown and puffed.
  7. Immediately roll the hot churro bites in cinnamon sugar before they cool.

Notes

For a lighter coating, use 1/2 cup cinnamon sugar. Vegan option: replace butter with vegan butter and use a flax ‘egg’. Store in an airtight container for up to 1 day for best freshness.
