Description

Delicious turnovers filled with creamy cheese and jalapeños, wrapped in flaky puff pastry.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 package puff pastry sheets (2 sheets), thawed (about 1718 oz total)
  • 4 oz (113 g) cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup (about 56 g) shredded cheddar cheese
  • 2 jalapeños, finely chopped (reserve a few slices for garnish, optional)
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, mix together the softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar, chopped jalapeños, and garlic powder until evenly combined and smooth.
  3. Unfold the thawed puff pastry sheets on a lightly floured surface. Cut each sheet into 4 equal squares, yielding 8 squares total.
  4. Place a spoonful (about 1–2 tablespoons) of the filling in the center of each square.
  5. Fold each square over into a triangle and crimp the edges together with a fork to seal.
  6. Place the turnovers on the baking sheet. Brush the tops with the beaten egg.
  7. Bake for 18–22 minutes until the turnovers are puffed and golden brown.
  8. Let cool for 3–5 minutes before serving.
