Description
Soft, tender spirals filled with cinnamon-sugar and topped with silky cream cheese frosting. Perfect for a cozy morning or holiday gathering.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups (240 g) all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup (50 g) granulated sugar
- 2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 cup (180 ml) milk (whole milk recommended)
- 1/4 cup (56 g) unsalted butter, melted (plus extra for spreading)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 cup (50 g) brown sugar, packed
- 1/2 cup (113 g) cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup (60 g) powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (for frosting)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Mix the flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt in a large bowl until evenly combined.
- Add the milk, melted butter, and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract. Mix until a dough forms.
- Lightly flour a clean surface and roll the dough out into a rectangle (approximately 10×12 inches).
- Brush lightly with melted butter, then evenly sprinkle the cinnamon and brown sugar over the surface.
- Roll the dough tightly into a log from the long edge, pinching the seam to seal. Slice into 8 even rolls.
- Place the rolls cut-side up in a greased baking dish, leaving a little space between each. Bake for 20–25 minutes.
- Beat together the cream cheese, powdered sugar, and 1 teaspoon of vanilla until smooth and spreadable.
- Spread the cream cheese frosting over the warm rolls right after they come from the oven.
Notes
Avoid overmixing the dough to keep rolls tender. Use dental floss for cleaner cuts.
