Description
A refreshing, indulgent cream soda made with blueberries and heavy cream, capturing a nostalgic flavor without the added sugar.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup fresh blueberries (about 148 g)
- 2 tbsp sugar-free blueberry syrup (brand-dependent; check label)
- 1/2 cup heavy cream (120 ml)
- 1 cup sparkling water (chilled)
- Ice cubes
Instructions
- Rinse fresh blueberries under cool water and pat dry.
- In a blender, combine the blueberries and sugar-free blueberry syrup; blend until smooth, then strain through a fine-mesh sieve to remove seeds and large solids.
- Stir in the heavy cream until well combined with the blueberry mixture.
- Fill two glasses with ice cubes about 3/4 full.
- Divide the blueberry-cream mixture between the glasses, then top off slowly with chilled sparkling water.
- Garnish with a skewer of whole blueberries or a sprig of fresh mint; serve immediately.
Notes
Avoid overblending to keep the puree fresh. Straining is crucial for a silky texture. Serve immediately after adding sparkling water to maintain carbonation.
